AUGUSTA, Ga. - Some children attending the Masters don't know how lucky they are to be at the tourxml_nament.
Many wait years for the chance to see the Augusta National or attend the Masters, others never get the chance. Some tourxml_nament goers say children who get in with their parents are very fortunate to witness the Masters at such a young age.
People of all ages, from 2 to 92 can be seen walking the greens at the Augusta National.
After more than a decade of trying to get into the Masters, 72-year-old golf fanatic Gary Luona had his dream come true-he's attending the Masters for the first time, thanks to his son Steve who scored the tickets.
For Steve, the Masters is nothing new. He came to the tourxml_nament 30 years ago when he was just 7-years-old.
Steve says he wasn't able to take it all in as young boy.
"Jack Nicklaus was in his prime so we followed him around, but I didn't understand the magnitude of what the Masters was," said Steve Luona.
Even if children may not understand it, many say it's still quite the experience just watching the players.
"My dad told me they were the best in the world," said 9-year-old Ed Martin.
Although many youth have fun out at the tourxml_nament, some children don't really care for the sport of golf. Parents say a trip to the Masters is something they'll be thankful for later.
"I told my wife this is something they'll never forget and as they get older, they'll appreciate being here," said Ryan Drafts, a father of three who brought his two boys ages six and nine.
Drafts' son Colin experienced his first time on the grass of the Augusta National, Tuesday.
"I've never really experienced golf, but I just can't believe I'm here," said Colin Drafts.
