Baby's first moments captured for a lifetime at University Hospital

AUGUSTA, Ga. - With the click of a shutter, baby Logan's first day of life is captured forever on film. From his tiny toes and fingers to his little button nose, Christine Sutton of Bella Baby photography snaps away to make sure she doesn't miss a moment.

She and several other photographers make the rounds every morning at University Hospital taking pictures of all the newborns. Logan is one of five babies being photographed at University Hospital Monday. It's a service they just started a week ago, and moms really like it so far.

"It was really quick and didn't seem like an inconvenience," said Candice Cormican, Logan's mom. I'm sure I'm going to love having the pictures.

The photo shoot is free and before any of the pictures are printed they're uploaded to a secure web site. Every new mom is given a brochure with a web address and password. She can then give that password to family and friends so they can see the baby's pictures as well.

Between 15 and 20 photos are uploaded of each baby and put into a slideshow. Moms can choose which ones, if any, they want to order.

Since most of Cormican's family lives in Atlanta, she loves the idea of having baby Logan's pictures on the Web.

"I couldn't be more proud," said Cormican. "So, many people will be getting that password."
