THOMSON, Ga. - A disabled man is dead after a house fire in Thomson Monday morning.

Georgia Fire and Insurance Commissioner's Office says 68-year-old Jessie Ramsey was killed when the fire started around 8:30 a.m.

It happened at his home on Adams Avenue.

A spokesperson for the fire commissioner's office tells NBC Augusta 26 News a hot plate may have started the fire.
